TV wall mounts refer to steel brackets that are used for attaching a flat panel Television, or a computer display with a wall. For attaching the bracket with the display, there must be screw holes behind the television or monitor. These screw holes are usually set in standardized pre-determined positions on the displays as well as on brackets. While smaller tube type or CRT televisions are generally mounted for saving space, the larger flat panel televisions are also mounted for placing them over a pedestal or stand. Mounted flat panel televisions create a striking, ultra-modern look.

Generally, typical flat panel television wall mounts consist of a few basic parts, i.e. the wall plate which attaches with the entertainment center or wall, and rails which is fastened behind the television. As it is, the rails usually consist of 2 perpendicular arms along with devices facing back which connect with the wall plates. After the plate and rails have been installed, the television can be simply hung with the plate. In case the television needs to be removed, then it could easily be lifted off the wall mount.

The basic purpose of the wall mount is to ensure that the television stays firmly in a place on a wall. Finding the one which specifically suits your needs is very important since it not just protects your television, but also provides you several options. For accomplishing the task, the wall mounts were designed.

While most TVs can fit in nearly any of the wall mounts, there are a few that require specific brackets. When it comes to buying a wall mount, the very first step that one should take is that of checking the owner manual before purchasing a television wall mount. This would definitely save you some time. Apart from that, some knowledgeable retailing associates might be helpful in selecting the most appropriate wall mount for your home.

Size is quite important when selecting tv wall mounts. Flat screen TVs, irrespective of whether they are LCD or plasma, come in various sizes. The brackets carry ratings for handling a particular size of TV, which is marked clearly on the packaging of the tv wall mount. Do not choose a TV wall mount that isn’t rated for the size of television you have. Wall mounts are basically of two types. An arm TV mount features a support that could be moved for keeping the TV closer to a wall, or away from it and pointed towards a particular direction. Traditional television wall mounts can keep only the TV on a wall.

These days, there are a number of online as well as offline stores, where you can get a number of options in this regard.
